(NEWSHCANNEL 3) - Abnormal changes in the brain caused by obesity could raise a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's by 35 percent.

The information comes from a new study in Brazil, but it adds that you can take preventative measures to lower the risk.

Researchers studied the brains of obese patients and found that after bariatric surgery, areas in the brain linked to Alzheimer's disease go back to normal.
