C-section babies have higher risk of obesity

Updated: Tuesday, May 28, 2013 |
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study say babies born by C-section are more likely to be obese as adults than babies born naturally.

Researchers say most of the C-section babies they studied had lower birth weights.

But, by the time they were 11-years-old they were almost twice as likely to be overweight or obese compared to children born naturally.

Scientists believe this is due to C-section babies not being exposed to an important bacteria during birth.
