Doctors: Motherhood can cause OCD symptoms

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Doctors are finding that motherhood can cause symptoms associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Researchers at Northwestern Medicine found 11 percent of new moms obsess over the health of their baby.
Those obsessions range from an overwhelming fear that the child is not breathing at night to worrying about germs.
Scientists say hormonal changes could trigger the OCD symptoms, which are usually temporary.
If they persist, though, experts advise talking to a doctor.
