McDonald's to place calorie counts on menu boards
Updated: Monday, September 17 2012, 10:14 AM EDT
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The next time you go to McDonald's, you may notice some new numbers on the menu, and they're not prices.
The restaurant is putting calorie counts on its menu boards beginning next week, and while it won't be the first major restaurant chain to post them, it will be the largest to do so.
The change comes as attention grows surrounding the nation's obesity rate.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about one-third of Americans are considered obese.
