Research: Delaying retirement could reduce Alzheimer's risk

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We've all heard the expression 'use it or lose it,' and it may really be true when it comes to brain power and staying mentally sharp.
French researchers found that delaying retirement reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
The research looked at nearly half a million people, and found that for each additional year a person worked, their risk of getting dementia was reduced by more than 3 percent.
Doctors say working helps prevent mental decline by keeping people physically active, socially connected, and mentally stimulated.
