NEW MEXICO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're learning that a nationwide salmonella outbreak may be linked to mail order baby poultry from New Mexico.

The hatchery sells and ships live baby chicks and supplies to feed stores across the country.

New Mexico state health officials say the strain of salmonella found in a duck pen there is the same strain found in more than 300 people in 37 states that have been infected.

Federal health officials say they're still investigating.
