(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An ingredient found in soy sauce could help fight HIV.

According to scientists, the Japanese condiment by the Yamasa Corporation contains a molecule called "EFDA."

They say the molecule can prevent HIV replication.

Scientists made the discovery while testing the immune system response to different chemicals in food.

Even more shocking, the molecule in soy sauce may be more powerful than HIV drugs on the market because patients are not as resistant to it.
