ENGLAND (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - If you're planning to have surgery soon, you might want to keep this in mind.

A new study out of England says there are safer, as well as more dangerous, days to go under the knife.

The study found that the most deaths from surgery happen on Fridays in August.

Researchers believe it may be because the quality of care is worse at the end of the week and there is less staff on hand.

The study also found that Monday surgeries have the lowest death rates.
