(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study says overweight people are more likely to die in a car crash, and the heavier the person is the higher the risk.
Researchers at Berkeley found the most obese people were 80 percent more likely to die in an auto accident.
With one third of the U.S. population overweight the studies authors are urging automakers to consider changing car designs to better protect bigger drivers and passengers.
