CANADA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Hundreds of women in Canada have filed a class-action lawsuit claiming their birth control medication can prove deadly.

The suit claims that 23 Canadian women died suddenly from blood clots after taking Yasmin.

Bayer, which makes Yasmin, has already paid more than $1-billion to settle thousands of lawsuits here in the U.S., but the drug maker says it stands by its products.
