KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Women across the country are raising their hammers in honor of Women Build Day.
Female volunteers have partnered with Lowe's Heroes today to build a special home for the Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Lowe's donated the organization a $5,000 gift card along with in-store volunteer training to help support women builders.
A local volunteer said she'd like to see more women building, because they can do just as much as men can.
Lowe's is donating more than $1 million to help the Habitat's Women Build program create more houses in the U.S.
