Teen carries brother for 40 miles raising awareness of cerebral palsy story image
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A teenager is gaining national recognition Monday morning after finishing a two-day, 40 mile walk with his seven year old brother strapped to his back the whole way.

It's called the "Cerebral Palsy Swagger."

14-year-old Hunter Gandee carried his brother Braden on his back from his high school near the Ohio border to the University of Michigan.

His brother has the muscle disorder, so the two went on the walk to raise awareness.

"Whenever I'm going through something that's difficult and I'm doing something that's hard, I see him and how he worked through it and it kind of pushes me through," said Hunter Gandee.

There was talk of stopping the journey during the 30-mile marker because the seven year old started chaffing.

But in the end they didn't stop.
