KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A local non-profit is using social media to get people involved and raise money for volunteer projects in Kalamazoo.
Volunteer Kalamazoo held their first tweet-a-thon last week, hoping to spread the word about their cause to more people.
They also asked for donations.
The group got a lot of attention and now plans to push social media as a way to get more people involved in volunteerism.
Those at Volunteer Kalamazoo said that they have opportunities for everyone in the community to volunteer in some way.
They also said they can match people up with organizations, using their skill level and the amount of time they have to commit.
