UKRAINE (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Data from the recovered flight data recorders shows Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed because of a massive, explosive loss of pressure after being punctured multiple times by shrapnel.

That's according to a Ukrainian security spokesman.

A United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights says the downing of the flight may be a war crime.

The flight went down on July 17th, killing all 298 people on board.

It was shot down over a part of eastern Ukraine controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

Right now an international police team is abandoning efforts to reach the crash site to continue its investigation as the heavy fighting between the military and pro-Russian rebels escalates.
