LIBERIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Nurses at Liberia's largest hospital are on strike.

They are demanding better pay and equipment to protect themselves from the deadly ebola virus.

Liberia has been hit hardest by the outbreak, which has killed 1,500 people in four countries--with 700 in Liberia alone.

A spokesman for the strikers says they won't return without access to HAZMAT-style suits to guard against infection.

Meanwhile, clinical trials on a potential vaccine are set to begin this week in Maryland.
