WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Pentagon is reacting to the death of an American general in Afghanistan, saying it will not have an effect on U.S. strategy.

"I don't see any impact to the current plans to draw down our forces in Afghanistan," said Admiral John Kirby.

We're learning new details about the attack that killed Major General Harold Greene.

Officials say he was with a delegation of allied officers when a man believed to be an Afghan army soldier opened fire with a machine gun from the window of a nearby building.

15 others, including 4 U.S. soldiers, were also wounded.
