WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES

UNTIL 8 PM

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES remain for all of West Michigan until 8 PM.  The expiration time is 4 PM in Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties.  1" to 3" of snow followed by freezing rain has left some roads slippery.  Areas of light snow and freezing drizzle won't do our roads any favors through sunset.  Please be careful traveling during your evening commute and beyond!

Stay with wwmt.com for your weather this afternoon and always!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Former President Jimmy Carter will speak in Grand Rapids for a lecture and book signing.

The 39th president and his wife, Rosalynn, will visit on Sept. 22 as part of Grand Rapids Community College's Diversity Lecture Series. It's the 20th anniversary of the series and the college's 100th anniversary.

The 89-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner is expected to lecture for about 45 minutes before a question-and-answer session.

He has written 28 books, including "A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence and Power." It was released in March.

The lecture is free to attend but tickets must be reserved in advance. Tickets for the signing are $28 and include a copy of Carter's book.
