Kentwood man charged after domestic situation

KENTWOOD, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A man involved in a domestic situation that escalated to a shooting has been charged.

A Kent County Sheriff's deputy tells Newschannel 3 a man and a woman got into an argument near the Reformed Church in America building on 60th Street.

The woman was shot in the arm and the man had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The man has been identified as 30-year-old Artur Grigoryan of Kentwood. He has been charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, CCW, felony firearm and interfering with electronic communication.

Grigoryan was denied bond at his arraignment.
