Man arrested after throwing rock through fire department window story image

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A man is arrested after, police say, he broke a window and damaged a fire truck with a rock.

Officers say a 31-year-old Grand Haven man walked up to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety building around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. They say he threw a large rock through a window in an overhead door. That rock broke the window and hit a fire truck.

An officer in the building heard the glass shatter. Other officers in the area chased and caught the man, who admitted throwing the rock.

The man was taken to the Ottawa County Jail. Police are seeking felony charges for malicious destruction of police/fire property.
