LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  2" to 6" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph bringing lake effect snow bands near and across US 131, at times.  Some locations will see more than 6", especially closer to Lake Michigan.  Roads are slippery and become more tricky once the sun sets.

MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - At last check, a Muskegon man is in critical condition Thursday morning after crashing into a semi.

Deputies in St. Joseph County were called to M-103 near Barker Road in Mottville Township Wednesday afternoon at around 4:00.

They say 51-year-old Lyle Maki was attempting to pass a semi when he crashed head-on into another semi.

Maki had to be flown out by Aircare from the scene.

The driver of the semi was not hurt.
