DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 11 AM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 11 AM for nearly every county in West Michigan save for our Indiana bordering counties of Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch.  It doesn't mean it won't be foggy there!  The combination of yesterday evening's rainfall, light winds while you were sleeping, and our unusually cool airmass is a near perfect recipe for visibilities under a mile and perhaps as low as 1/4 mile.  This is enough to change how you drive.  Please keep it safe this morning, and slow it down if you can.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather!

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A routine traffic stop turned into an emergency call for a Kalamazoo Public Safety officer as he saved a woman choking behind the wheel.

Officer Jason Gates tells Newschannel 3 that he stopped the driver because she ran a red light, but it wasn't until he approached the victim that he realized she was choking.

He quickly rushed to help her, acting on police training and human instinct.

Newschannel 3's Lourin Sprenger has more from Officer Gates on the rescue.
