Ottawa Co. deputies release name of suspect in abduction, robbery story image

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies in Ottawa County have identified a suspect in the case of an abduction and robbery that took place late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Tomas Garcia Jr., of Grandville, but deputies say he has also had addresses in Wyoming and Grand Rapids.

The Prosecutor's office has issued a two-count warrant for Garcia, with one charge of unlawful imprisonment, and one charge of armed robbery.

According to investigators, a 24-year-old female was parked in her vehicle at Brook Meadow Apartments, when Garcia got into her car, pulled a knife, and demanded that she drive to Grand Rapids.

As she reached the west side of the city, he reportedly made her withdraw money from an ATM, and drop him off in the area of Fulton and Lane.

The woman then immediately drove to a police substation.
