The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Muskegon, Newaygo, Mecosta, and Montcalm effective from 7 pm Saturday until 6 am Monday. A strong storm will be crossing the Ohio Valley Sunday, bringing snow to West Michigan, with some areas perhaps seeing as much as 10-12" of accumulation. Snowfall will be heaviest south as opposed to north, so near/south of I-94 is where the highest accumulations are expected... 8-12" possible. However, Eaton, Ottawa, and Kent could see anywhere from 4-7". Additionally, gusty winds will be blowing the snow quite a bit, causing drifting on roads along with poor visibility. Travel is discouraged from late Saturday night through Sunday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for the following counties in West Michigan, effective from 7 pm Saturday until 4 am Monday: Allegan, Barry, Berrien, calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, Van Buren,  St.Joseph, Branch, and Hillsdale. A strong winter storm moving into/across the Ohio Valley will bring periods of heavy snow to the Warning area, beginning late tonight and extending through at least Sunday evening. Forecast models indicate between 8 and 12" of accumulation are possible. Additionally, strong winds will cause blowing and drifting snow. Driving conditions will be hazardous Sunday. Travel is not encouraged.

Ottawa County Michigan Works! job fair Tuesday

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) 165 New Positions are available at a Michigan Works! Job fair Tuesday, July 29th.

Here are the details on the companies and positions that are available and detailed interview times:

Adecco will be on site from 9am to 3pm hiring for Manufacturing Associates and Hi-Lo Drivers for Herman Miller at their Holland, Zeeland and Spring Lake locations.   They are hiring for all shifts, full time, plus possible mandatory overtime. There are over 130 positions to be filled. These positions are "temp to hire" at the discretion of Herman Miller. Interested applicants are asked to bring an updated resume, 2 forms of ID (usually a DL or State ID and a social security card or birth cert), 2 professional references and banking information for direct deposit.

Speedway will be on site from 1pm to 4pm.  They have 15 openings in the Holland/Ottawa County area.  The positions that they are interviewing for are: Co-Manager Trainee: a full time (50 hour/week) position that will grow into a management position within the organization. Pay is based upon experience.  Shift Leader Trainee: is an entry-level position for people who are looking to advance into management while gaining leadership experience and learning about our industry.  Pay starts at $8.70/hour.  Customer Service Representative: is an entry level position and is part-time.  Pay is $7.40/hour.

Stratosphere Quality will be on site from 10am to 3pm hiring for 10 Quality Inspectors. Quality Inspectors will work in Inspection, Sorting and Containment as well as perform rework.   Interested applicants can apply at the event and are asked to bring a copy of their resume and two forms of identification.  

Blu Perspective will be on site from 9am to Noon, and 1pm to 4:30pm hiring for 10 positions; including Quality Response Technicians, Quality Lead Inspectors, Entry Level Quality Inspectors, Production Workers and Hi-Lo Drivers.  Starting wages for these positions begin at $10 per hour and go up to $15 per hour depending on the position. Interested applicants can apply in person at the event and are asked to bring a copy of their resume and come prepared for a brief interview.
