A strong storm will be crossing the Ohio Valley Sunday, bringing snow to West Michigan, with some areas perhaps seeing as much as 10-14" of accumulation. Snowfall will be heaviest south as opposed to north, so near/south of I-94 is where the highest accumulations are expected... 10-14" possible. However, Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Ottawa, and Kent could see anywhere from 6-10". Additionally, gusty winds will be blowing the snow quite a bit, causing drifting on roads along with poor visibility. Travel is discouraged from late Saturday night through Sunday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for the following counties in West Michigan, effective until 6 am Monday: Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ionia, Ottawa, Van Buren,  St.Joseph, Branch, and Hillsdale. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Muskegon, Newaygo, Mecosta, and Montcalm  until 6 am Monday.

Parchment comes together after recent grad injured in bike crash story image

PARCHMENT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A recent Parchment High School graduate is in critical condition in a California hospital.

Charlie Eaton is in critical condition after crashing his bike last week. This weekend, people in Parchment wanted to make sure he knew they were supporting him.

Eaton was biking alone near Sacramento, Wednesday, when he crashed. He was wearing a helmet, but landed on the side of his head and was airlifted to the hospital.

He is now in critical condition. Back at home in Parchment, people have tied orange ribbons, to match Eaton's red hair, all over downtown.

Eaton's high school soccer coach says he is a great athlete but a lot more.

Tom Nesbitt says Eaton is a "great guy to get along with. Everybody loved him, he was friends with everybody. If you look around the school during homecoming, things like that, Charlie was always the center of attention. Not because he wanted to be but he was so outgoing."

Family members tell Newschannel 3 Charlie Eaton is unconscious but has been responsive and is able to move his fingers.
