DOWAGIAC, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Rose Morris has been found safe.

According to Dowagiac Police the 25-year old has had contact with family, though it's not clear at this time where she has been. Police say that she is voluntarily missing.

A posting on a Facebook page set up to find the missing woman claimed she had been in jail, but police say that is false information. Investigators say that she told family that she had been in jail, but that was not true.

Morris told police that she had not been aware that she had been reported missing. She refused to give her location to police. Officers say she was laughing and joking with the officer about her being reported as missing.

Family reported Morris missing after she was last seen Thursday, July 24.

Police say she met friends at a home in Dowagiac and spent most of the night there.

Tuesday, Dowagiac Police had k-9 units searching areas she was known to frequent.

Police say the case is still under investigation.
