Rally marks 3 weeks since Michael Brown shooting death story image

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Rallies across the Saturday marked three weeks since the deadly shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. -- including one in West Michigan.

Dozens of people gathered in Kalamazoo, saying the situation in Ferguson could easily happen in West Michigan and changes need to be made.

They assembled at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The rally included speakers and a moment of silence. The protestors then marched to Bronson Park.

Many at the rally say people need to be frank when it comes to racism.

Police in Missouri say Michael Brown had just robbed a store right before the shooting occurred and that Brown was charging the officer when he opened fire.
