WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Severe thunderstorms tore through West Michigan Tuesday, toppling trees and knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses.

Some of the worst damage came out of Grand Junction, including snapped power poles and even collapsed garages.

Thousands of Consumers Energy customers are still without power Wednesday morning.

Van Buren County was the hardest hit, with roughly 1,600 in the dark.

Around 1,300 Indiana-Michigan Power customers in Van Buren County also without power Wednesday morning.

500 homes in Berrien County are without power as well.
