SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH

Until 10 PM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids and northern Indiana issues a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties until 10 PM.  Damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or greater are the primary concern.  Large hail of 1" in diameter or larger is a close second.  We'll be tracking storm development with Live Doppler Radar throughout your afternoon and evening.  Storm motion is easterly at 30 to 50 mph.  Stay with wwmt.com for the latest weather information!

Water to be shut off for portion of Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Tuesday, the City of Battle Creek will shut off water services as crews work on a water main.

Starting at 7:00, water will be shut off along Valleyview Road from Minges Road east to Wahwahtaysee Way and Wahwahtaysee Way from Valleyview Road to Capital Avenue Southwest.

Water is expected to be restored around 4:00 Tuesday.

But the city says the area and/or length of time may be expanded if needed.

Once water is restored, residents should check before washing white or delicate clothing.

A boil-water advisory could also be issued.
