DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 10 AM

The National Weather Service issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for all of West Michigan until 10 AM.  Fog may linger in some locations until midday.  Light winds, ample moisture near the ground are encouraging the formation of dense fog.  Because temperatures are near freezing, a light coating of ice may form on some road surfaces making them slick.  Please keep it safe this morning as you head back to work and school.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A West Michigan girl and her family are taking on a big adventure this week, all for a good cause.

13-year-old Zoe Carter, her mom and brother are taking part in GISHWHES, pronounced "Gish-was," which stands for Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen.

Hundreds of teams of people all across the world are taking part in the event, which ends Saturday.

They have one week to complete as many items on a massive scavenger hunt list.

Some of the items include doing good things, like sending a care package to a deployed soldier to more outrageous things like dressing in costumes and doing everyday chores.

All of the proceeds go to help spread kindness across the world.

"All the money goes to Random Acts, a charity that the same guy who started GISHWHES founded, which encourages people and supports people to commit random acts of kindness in their community," said Carter.

The winning team will be flown to King's Landing in Croatia for a vacation.

Carter and her family are paired up with other people around the country- making a team of 15. Their combined team name is PoofyDoosLovesPoondockSaintsLovesStarWhalesLovesDarthKitchen- a combination of their smaller team's names.

One of the items on this week's list was to get their team on local TV news, so we just helped Zoe get more than 100 points!
