Family, Friends Gather to Mourn 5 Train Victims

TAYLOR, Mich. (AP) - Friends and family have gathered to mourn the death of five young people killed when the car in which they were riding skirted a railroad gate near Detroit and was struck by a passenger train.

Mourners gathered Friday night for a candlelight vigil at Northwest Park in the Detroit suburb of Taylor. Those who gathered prayed, sang and paid their respects.

Authorities say 19-year-old Dan Broughton of Woodhaven was driving with a suspended license on Thursday.

Fourteen-year-old Jessica Sadler, whose family was staying with relatives, also was killed. Others killed were 17-year-old Eddie Gross and 19-year-old Sean Harris of Taylor, along with Harris' 21-year-old brother Terrence of Stafford, Va.

Police say "bad judgment" was likely to blame.
