Mich. governor continues to recuperate at home after surgery
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Gov. Jennifer Granholm continues to recuperate after emergency surgery two weeks ago, but is improving and working from home as needed.
Granholm spokeswoman Liz Boyd says the governor is regaining strength but is not expected to resume a full schedule until later this month.
The 49-year-old Democratic governor underwent emergency surgery April 29 to remove an obstruction in her small intestine. The intestinal obstruction that forced the surgery was a complication from internal injuries Granholm sustained in a 1993 auto accident in Washington, D.C.
The governor left the hospital on May 3. Since then, Boyd said the governor has been holding some meetings and talking on the phone with department directors and staff.
