Hit and Run Suspect Causes House Fire

ADA TOWNSHIP(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A suspected drunk driver smashed into a house, causing it to catch fire Sunday.

Deputies say the crash happened early Sunday morning when a 2004 Audi S4 hit a house on the 600 block of Pettis Avenue.

The suspect then drove off, leaving the house to burn. The house became fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies found the suspected vehicle, but not the suspect, a few miles away after following debris and fluids from the vehicle.

They believe alcohol is a factor from evidence located on the scene. The house was a complete loss.

No homeowners were injured during this fire.

Police were able to use evidence at the scene to track down the driver. He's been arrested.
