Michigan's first commercial bio-mass systems fires up

HOWARD CITY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - West Michigan's first commercial bio-mass system gets going Friday.

The facility in Howard City will turn tons of turkey litter into electricity and steam.

When it's up and running it will pump out enough energy to keep the lights on at 400 homes and heat 150.
