50 or more jobs to be cut in Battle Creek
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - More local jobs tied to the auto industry are being cut.
Newschannel 3 has learned that auto supplier Yorozu has sent a warn letter to Battle Creek Unlimited saying that 50 or more jobs will be lost.
That letter gives the city a 60 day warning.
The company places the blame for the cuts on the summer shut-down of automotive plants and says the cuts are painful, but necessary.
The company sent a letter to its employees on Wednesday, saying that 50 or more workers will lose their jobs sometime between August 10th and 14th.
The employees may be entitled to a severance package, but the company says the cuts are permanent.
