2 arrested for defrauding W.K. Kellogg Foundation

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Two men are under arrest, charged with trying to defraud the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

The Department of Justice has just announced the arrest of two men on a five-count indictment. They are trying to extradite a third co-conspirator.

Officials say Nehemiah Muzamhindo from Kentwood and Tichaona Machamire from Berrien Springs defrauded the W.K. Kellogg Foundation out of $800,000.

Investigators say they set up bogus charities to collect money from the Battle Creek based foundation.

Authorities say a third defendant, Sabina Brand, who is in South Africa, cashed the fake money vouchers.

She was an employee of Kellogg.

They are all facing charges of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.
