OTTAWA CO. Mich. (Newschannel 3) - The Ottawa Co. Health Department has issued a surface water advisory for Lake Macatawa due to a sewage overflow.

The City of Holland BWP notified the health department that there had been a Sanitary Sewer Overflow late Sunday morning, after it's expected that 100,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the lake.

Due to the spill and recent heavy rainfall in the area, the health department has issued a No Body Contact Advisory for the lake.

The advisory is expected to expire at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
