Traffic Stop Leads Into Meth Lab Busts

 COLON (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A routine traffic stop turns into a meth lab bust.

 

 

Three Rivers Police department pulled a subject over and found methampetamine in the vehicle. The subject was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.

 

 

The St. Joseph County Area Narcotics Team received a search warrant to raid the subjects home on the 58000 block of Fairfax Road in Colon Township. There drug investigators located a methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine, marijuana, additional methamphetamine lab components and drug paraphernalia indicative of manufacturing and dealing drugs.

 

 

Deputy Investigators also seized several firearms, a vehicle and money.

 

 

The lab was dismantled and a hazardous disposal company was contacted to remove the lab components and hazardous waste from the property.

 

 

The subject is being charged with various drug charges and possession of firearms.
