Extension approved for Palisades Nuclear Power Plant

COVERT (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Palisades Nuclear Power Plant near South Haven has been given a 20 year extension on its operating license.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission renewed the plant's license after reviewing environmental and safety issues.
The license was set to expire in March, 2011. The extension keeps the plant operational until 2031. The license renewal application was submitted back in March, 2005.
