Michigan authorities seize 1,000 marijuana plants
Comments 0 | Recommend 0MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) - Drug enforcement officials say they have seized more than 1,000 marijuana plants worth more than $1 million from remote areas in six Michigan counties.
WJRT-TV reported Wednesday one man has been arrested and 17 other growers are being investigated in connection with the growing operations in Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Gladwin, Isabella and Arenac counties.
Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team and local law enforcement officials say they used a plane to spot marijuana plants, which were located in farm fields, ditch lines, river bottoms and on residential property.
Police say seizing the marijuana before harvesting will prevent other crimes.
