Meth bust keeps crews busy in Emmett Township

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL3) - Hazmat crews spent a good part of Monday dismantling a meth lab after it was discovered by public safety officers serving arrest warrants. The lab was in a house on Vass Avenue and officers say that the amount of meth in the house would be worth thousands of dollars on the streets.

It's a drug that is reaching just about every level of the community. The discovery in Emmett Township is merely the latest in a rash of meth lab busts in West Michigan. Over the weekend, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers busted someone cooking meth in an apartment on Vine Street and someone walking their dog found a discarded "one-pot" meth lab on Reed Street.

These latest busts are on top of four other labs that the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement team reported finding last week.
