NOVI, Mich. (AP) - Seven members of Army Specialist Byron Fouty's unit saluted his casket today and carried it into a memorial service for the soldier missing in Iraq for 14 months.

The service took place at Brightmoor Christian Church in Novi.

The 19-year-old Waterford man was remembered as a loyal soldier and loving son, brother and friend.

His remains arrived in Michigan on Sunday.

A funeral is set for Friday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Fouty's mother lives in Texas.

He was captured when insurgents ambushed his unit in May 2007.

The remains of Fouty and 25-year-old Sergeant Alex Jimenez of Massachusetts were discovered July 9th.
