Pedicabs to start rolling in Michigan capital city
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Anyone tired of hoofing it on the streets of Michigan's capital city soon will have another alternative: the pedicab.
A company based in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming will begin this month or next offering the human-powered cab service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in and around downtown Lansing.
Elite Pedicabs co-owner Randy McCullough tells the Lansing State Journal the pedicabs will charge $3 for two-block rides and $1 for each additional block.
Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero pedaled one of the cabs during a demonstration Thursday.
He says it's another way for Lansing to be green by offering a new way to get around that doesn't pollute or use fossil fuels.
