Sewage line break in Paw Paw

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

PAW PAW (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - As much as 50,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the Paw Paw River after a sewer line burst near Paw Paw on Wednesday.

The sewage spill is now the target of a massive river clean-up effort.

The mess is so large that the Village brought in tankers to pump the sewage into treatment ponds, and crews worked all day Thursday on the clean-up.

Luckily, Village leaders say the spill will not affect drinking water, and tap water is still safe to drink.
