Rain gardens have homeowners upset
STURGIS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Controversy is raining down in Sturgis over a plan to build rain gardens.
You can weigh in on the plans Tuesday night.
The city plans to install 12 rain gardens on Maplecrest Avenue. The city has a grant for the project and says it's a low-cost, low-impact and "green" way to handle storm water runoff.
People who live in that area are upset, saying it's going to destroy their property.
A meeting to talk it over is Tuesday night from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Sturgis City Hall.
