Group calls for new school leadership

GRAND RAPIDS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A postcard could be on the way to your mailbox calling out leaders of a local school district.

The Education Action Group just launched a major campaign to urge people in Grand Rapids to vote for change in next week's elections.

Teachers are at odds with the district over contracts, and have been for months.

Their union wants voters to clean house in the school board and is making its choices known by endorsing all the challengers running this year.

While the EAG doesn't specifically endorse any candidates itself, it's sending out cards and putting up a huge billboard along US-131 urging voters to do some research before heading to the polls May 6th.
