Stabenow calls for GOP to alter energy policy
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WASHINGTON (AP) - Senator Debbie Stabenow says the public must pressure Republicans in the White House and Congress to change directions in the country's energy policies.
The Michigan Democrat says today in the Democrats' weekly radio address those policies have pushed oil and gas prices to record highs.
Stabenow says the rising price of oil is fostered by President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney's close ties to the oil industry.
Oil rose above 126 dollars a barrel for the first time yesterday and gasoline prices rose above an average three-dollars-and-67-cents a gallon at the pump.
She's promoting the Democratic proposals for changing energy policy.
