Standoff ends, boy safe

NEAR LOWELL (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An armed standoff in Kent County has ended peacefully Tuesday morning.

Sheriff's deputies say it all began around 11 o'clock Monday night at a home near Lowell.

When a husband threatened his wife with a handgun, she took off leaving their 2-year-old son behind.

Deputies went there to question the man but he wouldn't come out and a six hour standoff ensued.

They finally got him to come out just before 6:00 Tuesday morning. His little boy was okay.

We're following this story to see if that man will face charges Tuesday.
