Renewable energy would mean jobs

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're learning just how many jobs a switch to renewable energy could bring to our state.

A study by the Land Policy Institute found that wind power alone would blow more than 25,000 constructions, management and maintenance jobs into Michigan over the next 20 years.

Researchers say wind energy would also generate about 1.2 billion dollars a year for the state in construction related investments.

That's compared to the 18 billion dollars Michigan ships out of state every year to pay for fuel coal and other sources of power.
