ALTO (NEWSCHANNE 3) - A man loses control of his vehicle and smashes into a tree. Police say the accident happened around 12:15a.m Sunday near 60^th street and Bancroft in Alto.

A Caledonia man was heading west bound on 60^th and drove off the road hitting a tree. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and had to be pried out. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
