Teen Hits and Kills Pedestrian

CANNON (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One man is dead after he was hit by a car. Police say it happened around 3:40a.m. Saturday on Lake Michigan Drive east of 74^th Ave.

Steven Terrance Johnson, 46, of Grandville was wearing all black clothes and walking down the unlit road. Thats when he was hit by Breana Mecum, 18, of Alendale.

Mecum told police she didn't see Johnson until she hit him. She was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.

Police say Mecum was not drinking but their not sure if Johnson had been. The accident is still under investigation.
